Favorite Trends: F/W 2019
In general, I have always been very skeptical about “trends” but now I have started seeing them in a different light. Fashionable people neither expect you to follow the trends nor feel obliged to follow the trends themselves. Certain ways of dressing up, which have been forgotten for a while or have never been noticed by people, are introduced every season. Most of them are bound to be loved by fashion enthusiasts regardless of their opinion on trends.
It’s similar to when I find a new song I like. I keep listening to it on loop until I can’t listen to it anymore. Similarly, lots of people follow a trend for a few months as if they can’t live without it and then dump it like they never want to see it again. But it doesn’t mean the trend was followed simply for the sake of being trendy. People genuinely like the trends which is why they continue being recycled over the years. It feels fresh after you take a break from it.
So, I put a stop on looking down upon “trendy” people, and decided to embrace the idea. Here, are a couple of my favorite trends from F/W 2019 and some Stardoll outfits inspired by them.
PLEATED SKIRTS & JACKETS
What I felt when I saw the Celine collection was probably love at first sight. It strikes a perfect balance between feminine and masculine, flowy and structured, formal and casual. If there’s one collection I desperately want in the next tribute season, it’s definitely Celine. But, of course, Celine was not the only brand with this combination.
Celine / Fendi / Gucci
Apart from structured jackets and pleated skirts, another thing you will find repeatedly in the Celine collection are bows. It might be a bow-neck blouse or a separate scarf tied in a bow. Pleated skirts and bow-neck blouses are separate trends but two is better than one.
Outfit 1 : Pearls – Printed Midi Skirt Outfit 2 : Pearls – Midi Skirt Woman
DARK FLORALS
What better way to make floral prints less girly and add some boldness to it! The contrast of the bright colors against black is a statement from which few can take their eyes off.
Dries van Noten / Prada / Richard Quinn
My sad wardrobe does not have anything remotely as gorgeous as these dresses and jackets but that didn’t stop me from creating something.
Outfit 1 : Roberto Cavalli – Floral Black Blouse + Pretty n’ Love – Carpet Bag Outfit 2 : Dolce & Gabbana Tribute – Enchanted Forest Miniskirt
I tried out something new because the décor posts were getting old and boring. I hope you enjoyed this one. I will probably write another similar post but I'm not sure how soon it will be possible. I'm uninspired, very busy and take 3 days to complete a single post.
Please share your opinions on these outfits and your favorite trends from Fall 2019 Runways. I’d love to hear from you!
