Tribute Season Recap: S/S 2019
Hi y'all!
When writing for another blog last year, I had the idea of doing a tribute recap of the entire season rather than doing a post on each individual tribute store. My initial idea was to create 4 different outfits comprised of only pieces from the current tribute season. The catch would be that each tribute would only be represented once, meaning no double pieces from tributes. I felt that this would be a great way to highlight the tributes and show how versatile the pieces are.
This tribute season we saw tributes from the brands shown above. One thing to note is that although Antidote is not a 'tribute brand', Stardoll released a Moschino tribute through Antidote. My favorite tribute this season had to be Moschino. I absolutely loved the street style aspect that came with the pieces not to mention the Mickey pieces. When it comes to 'high fashion' in general, I think a lot of it is nice to look at but I personally prefer pieces that are practical. This leads to my least favorite Tribute which was Off White. With a mix of tulle and athleisure, this tribute had me confused as to what their overall aim was with the collection.
With all of that said, I decided to give it a go this tribute season! I started and immediately found that it was challenging. There were some pieces that easily went well with others; however, when trying to complete full outfits I noticed it was almost impossible. Below are the outfits I choose:
For these outfits, although I did set out to use pieces from outside of tribute season, I found that it was challenging to do so for a number of reasons. The first was that we didn't receive a lot of accessories this go around. I wish that we would have gotten more bags and belts. These are things that really can bring together an outfit and I hate that they were missing. The second issue I had was the lack of bottoms. In the past, I have found that we have gotten versatile bottoms that had multiple purposes however that was something we lacked this season.
