RLV – December Roundup

December flew by so quickly, I can't believe we're in 2019 already! Here is a roundup of 3 of my favourite pieces that Stardoll has released this past month, with the corresponding real-life versions (RLV) and how I’ve decided to style them.

1. Fendi Tribute - Fendi Inspired Leather Brown Jacket (30sd)

Stardoll was inspired by Fendi Women’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection, which is described in Fendi’s website as “Utilitarian romance abounds in a mineral palette of sage, cognac, burgundy, tangerine, optic white, denim, and sand.” Leather jackets emerged during Milan’s fashion week as an SS19 wardrobe staple, and not wanting to miss out on this trend, Fendi gave us their take on them. Clementine Zawadzki from Hero magazine perfectly summed up the collection “as an “urban jungle”, here the Fendi woman teamed up with another beacon of feminine power: mother nature herself. A potent partnership where “the pragmatic and the exotic combine” to create the ultimate all-terrain wardrobe.”

2. Alexander McQueen Tribute – Victorian Mini Dress

The last collection of 2018 released by Stardoll is the Alexander McQueen Tribute, inspired by their SS19 ready-to-wear collection. One of the pieces that stood out to me of this collection is the Victorian Mini Dress, which represents fantastically the floral trend, recurring through all of the SS19 collections. McQueen styles this dress with a flower leather corset top and flower boots, which Stardoll have also released. Savoir Flair commented that “[the collection] juxtaposed adorable ruffled dresses with thick leather accent pieces – harnesses, asymmetrical jackets and the like, offering a stark contrast between light and dark”. McQueen doesn’t succumb to either of the extremely popular neon and athleisure trends, “When everyone else is distracted by the athleisure realm, it’s with some relief that there are still designers out there who are still committed to fantasy.

3. Windows on the World – Multicolour Beaded Skirt

The last Windows on the World Collection was focused on Portugal and was inspired by local fashion designers. The Multicolour Beaded Skirt was inspired by Carlos Gil’s AW18 collection, which features bright colours, velvet, faux fur, gold and silver lurex and puffer jackets, just to name a few. I find this the perfect skirt to attend any party, especially during the holiday season, I would especially love to wear this during NYE! Modadivas Magazine defined the collection as “A mix of classic elements combined with the exuberance of colours. Carlos Gil shows a woman who dares to mix and who lives the metropolis day and night.”

I would love to see in the comments how you’ve styled any of these pieces or any other pieces that have stood out to you this month!

Until next time
