Posing 101: Arm Poses I

Now that we've gone through the basic leg poses, we are going to move onto arm poses! Arm poses are one of the most important and basic poses one could ever learn, and is incredibly vital for tasks or competitions that require more than one pose.

In this post, I am going to go over the basics of arm poses, how to create them, as well as pro tips and tricks in making them perfect!

Arm poses typically need two or more dolls, as each doll represents a limb. Our arms have 3 limbs, so the maximum would be 3 dolls per side.

To create the most basic arm pose, the bent elbow, you will need two dolls, two sets of clothing, and stardesign tiles.

Pro tip: When creating arm poses and choosing clothing, it's best to choose short-sleeved or sleeveless shirts or dresses, so there isn't a fabric clash once the pose is complete.

Next, take one doll and layer the doll to the bottom, rotating it so it's at an natural angle, and place the elbow of the layered doll underneath the top doll. Pro tip: It's easiest to do an angle that is less than 90 once you turn the doll upside down.

After that, use the stardesign tiles to cover up the parts that you don't want shown. Use as many tiles as you need to! To ensure that you wow people's minds, avoid making choppy cuts and calling it a day. Rotate and change the size of tiles so you can make the pose natural! Pro tip: If you can find items such as a bag or anything big that is normal enough for your arm to carry, you can use it instead of tiles to cover up parts of the body you don't want shown!

Once you have done cropping to your liking or the best of your ability, feel free to add bags or any items to jazz up the pose!

Apart from this pose, you can always do other poses, learn how to do a more advanced arm pose in the next episode!
